Lash Extensions FAQ’s

What should I do before my appointment?

  • please refrain from caffeine because it can cause twitching of the eye which sometimes will require you to reschedule the appointment to a new date.

  • come to the appointment makeup and oil-free

  • prepare a podcast/music playlist to listen to at the appointment

  • be prepared to be laying down for extended period of time.

Do lash extensions damage my own lashes?

Yes and No…. when you get a good lash artist who have been thoroughly educated on lash extensions they don’t damage your own lashes. In general, anything we do to our lashes from curling them to wearing mascara, or lash strips there will always be some sort of general wear (damage). Though I feel having extensions is less wear on your lashes vs doing daily lash enhancement.

Can I wear makeup with lash extensions?

Yes, you can but most client don’t feel the need to.

If you feel the need to wear makeup on occasion I do recommend the makeup to be an oil-free base. Most makeup is oil base and I feel like it tends to stick to the lashes even when cleaned really well.

How long does it take to get lash extensions done?

New lash set take 2-4 hours depending on the type of lash set and look you would like to achieve.

How old do you have to be to get lash extensios?

I do require my clients to be 18 year’s old.

What’s the difference between a lash lift & extensions

A lash lift is a semi-permanent service where I use your own lashes and curl them with a product that’ll last 4-6 weeks. Tinting service can be added which I highly recommend if you have really light-colored lashes.

Lash Extensions is a semi-permanent service where I enhance your own lashes by adding synthetic fibers to give your own lashes more length, and/or volume.

Can I get a new set of lash extensions done right before I go on a trip?

Yes, you can but I like my clients to get it done at least a month ahead of time if possible. I recommend this so we can get all the natural lash growth in sync with the extensions since all the natural lash growth is at different stages. I also prefer clients to get it done more in advance just in case they have any reaction to the lash extensions, lash glue or have any other issues.

Can I go swimming with my lash extensions?

Yes and No…. I don’t recommend you get a new set of lashes and then go straight to the beach or pool because if you are dunking your face into the water it can break down the glue used on the extensions. I highly recommend wearing goggles and having a good aftercare routine by cleaning your lashes.

I also suggest you do them a day in advance before going to the beach or pool.

I’m going on a trip and I love my friends lashes! I want to get the same thing she got!?

I like to give clients a set of lashes a week to a month before they go on a trip. The time frame varies due to on if client has got lashes before and on how long their trip is. I also like to make sure my clients don’t have any issues with their lashes before their trip.

Unfortunately due to everyone eye shape, and the amount of lashes everyone has is different. So the lash set your friend got just may not look good on you due to these reason.

Can anyone get lash extensions?

No there are some people who unfortunately can’t get lash extensions. Some people can’t get lashes dues to not having enough lashes, being allergic to adhesive used for extensions, health reasons, unhealthy natural lash hairs due to genetics or damage from over the years.
